Workers at the Flax factory c1920 : the buildings on this site (behind the old garage, off Lower Street) had been used for flax processing from the late 18th century to the mid 19th century. They were then used as farm buildings until the end of World War One when they were set up as a 'flax de-seeding' factory; the workers in the photo are all said to have lived in West & Middle Chinnock and Chiselborough.
